Why do some features not work for me?

Find out if the extensions installed in your browser block certain functions and disable them.

Adblockers help you to permanently remove advertising from websites. However, they can block some functions and elements in Scompler. If you want to disable these extensions or add-ons, you can do so in your browser settings.

Google Chrome

If you only want to disable the adblocker in Google Chrome temporarily, do the following:

  1. Open Chrome and click on the Adblock icon at the top right of the URL bar
  2. Click on the slider to deactivate the add-on
  3. If you want to deactivate the add-on for longer,so that the symbol in the bar also disappears, you can do this in the browser's add-on settings. For this click on the menu button with the three dots in the upper corner
  4. Under "More tools", select the "Extensions" menu option. Turn the toggle in the section "Adblock Plus" to off. The add-on is then disabled on all pages

Firefox

  1. Click on the symbol at the top right and deactivate the extension via the slider
  2. You can also deactivate the extension in the settings. To do so, click on the three dashes in the top right-hand corner
  3. Then select the item "Add-ons and Themes" and navigate in the left list of the new window to the menu item "Extensions"
  4. You can now switch off Adblock by clicking on the slider

Edge

It's also possible to quickly deactivate Adblock in Microsoft Edge.

  1. Click on the Adblock symbol and switch off the extension
  2. Alternatively, you can go to the settings by clicking on the three dots in the top right-hand corner and navigating to the menu called "Extensions"
  3. Here you can simply flip the switch underneath Adblock so that the add-on is deactivated

Safari

You can also deactivate Adblock in your Safari browser. The process is similar to the other applications.

  1. Select the corresponding button next to the address bar and then click on "Open Adblock Plus" to access the app's settings
  2. You can then deactivate the add-on via the "General" tab

Alternatively, you can also switch off AdBlock for the current page via the "Enabled" checkbox.

Deactivating Adblock on a specific page

If you only want to deactivate the Adblock add-on on certain pages, you can also do this with a few clicks.

Google Chrome: Click on the red Adblock Plus stop sign at the top right of a web page. In the pop-up window, click on the slider to the item "This page".

Mozilla Firefox: The procedure in Firefox is the same as in Chrome. Click on the icon next to the URL bar and turn off the slider next to "This page".

Microsoft Edge: Click on the red stop sign in the status bar and select "Options" in the menu bar. Then, under "Websites on the whitelist" you can then enter the relevant websites.

Safari: First go to the settings of the add-on as described above and then navigate to the menu called "Whitelist". There you can now enter the websites on which you want to deactivate Adblock and add them to the list with "Add Website".

Heads-up: note that with an adblocker, you are always taking away an important source of revenue for websites. Some companies set up advertising so that the content remains free, but they can still earn money. Therefore, think carefully about whether you want to allow advertising on a page or not.
