Threads integration in Scompler

Threads has established itself as an alternative to X as another social media platform from Meta. This article tells you everything you need to know about Threads in Scompler.

 
 

How do I integrate Threads into Scompler?

  1. Click on your project name above the main menu on the left and select “Project settings”.
  2. Select the “Integrations” tab.
  3. Scroll down until you see the Threads icon and click “Connect”.
  4. Log in with your Instagram account, follow the instructions and give Scompler all the necessary permissions.

NOTE: You need an Instagram Creator or Business account that has an activated Threads profile. You must be the admin of both accounts. Threads without a profile cannot be integrated.

What post types are supported for Threads?

  • Text: Maximum of 500 characters and 1 hashtag. Maximum of 20 mentions, no recommendations.
  • Image: Maximum of 20. Alt text possible. GIFs are published as static image.
  • Video: Maximum of 20 videos per article.

NOTE: Polls, location and alt text for videos are not currently supported. GIFs cannot be imported.

Which file formats are supported for the post types?

Image: JPEG/JPG, PNG

  • File size: maximum 8 MB.
  • Image aspect ratio: we recommend 9:16 to avoid cropping or white space.
  • Color space: sRGB. Images using other color spaces will be converted to sRGB.

Video: MOV, MP4

  • File size: maximum 1 GB.
  • Duration: maximum 300 seconds (5 minutes), minimum longer than 0 seconds.
  • Image size: maximum columns (horizontal pixels): 1920.
  • Frame rate: 23-60 FPS.
  • Video bitrate: VBR, maximum 100 Mbps.
  • Audio bitrate: 128kbps.
  • Container: MOV or MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14), no cut lists, moov atom at start of file.
  • Audio codec: AAC, sample rate maximum 48khz, 1 or 2 channels (mono or stereo).
  • Video codec: HEVC or H264, progressive scan, closed GOP, 4:2:0 chroma subsampling.
  • The required aspect ratio is between 0.1:1 and 10:1, but we recommend 9:16 to avoid cropping or blank spaces.
