Using the SSO link (Single Sign On) to log in allows your users to log in without additional authentication by entering their username and password. This makes SSO a popular and secure way to log in to Scompler.
You can set up SSO for your projects in two ways:
- Optional SSO: Users can log in with SSO, though classic login options will remain available. This means users can still access Scompler using their email address and password if they need to, for example, when they are outside their company network.
- Strict SSO: It is only possible to log in to Scompler via the SSO link. Only users who are logged in via your company network and have been authorised by your IT department to access Scompler can access the project.
How to activate SSO for your project
You will need to collaborate with your IT department to activate SSO for your Scompler project. Your IT department must set up an authorisation group for Scompler in your company's Active Directory.
If you want to activate SSO for your project, please contact us, for example, via Support. To start the process, we will send you a configuration guide to forward to your IT department. After that, we will exchange metadata with your IT department and set up the integration. Once this has been completed, you will be able to use SSO access for your project.
Informing your users
Let your team know that you'll be enabling SSO and share the link for direct access. The system won't automatically notify users about the activation. When you add new users, they will automatically receive the link in their account confirmation email. The SSO link, which is valid for all users, can be found in the project settings after activation:
Please note that, depending on their permissions, not all of your team members will have access to this area, so they will need you to distribute the link. Project users can save the SSO link as a bookmark.
NOTE: Please consider that
- Your IT team will need to add new users to the Active Directory group for Scompler so that they can access Scompler via the SSO link.
- For projects that do not use strict SSO, the password can still be reset in the usual way.
- If users forget their Office 365 (or other) credentials, these can only be reset by your IT department, not by Scompler Support.
