Link social media posts published on the network with Scompler articles

Do you publish planned social media posts directly via the network in Scompler, but want to avoid importing duplicates? Then simply link already published posts to your articles in Scompler.

First you have to activate it in the content types of a social network. To do this, go to the Strategy area > “Content Types” and click on the pencil icon of the desired content type. Now open the “Settings” tab and scroll to the “Article Tab” area. Here, check the “Enable adding links to external posts” option.

NOTE: This option only appears for content types that are classified as “Social Post”.

The “Externally Published” slider now appears in the article tab of each article of this content type.EN_02_Button in Beitragskarte

NOTE: You can only select one channel if you want to mark it as “Externally Published“. Also make sure that your desired social media platform is integrated. You can find out how to do this here.

Linking a planned article to a published social media post

If you like to plan social media articles in Scompler and link them to the respective social media posts, publish the post via the desired social network and copy the post link. Please note that this is not always the link from the address bar. To find out where exactly you can find it, click on “Add link” in the tooltip of the window that opens. There you can insert the link and decide whether the workflow should be set to “Published” immediately or not.EN_03_Beitrag mit Post verknüpfen_GIF
From now on, the analytics data of the post will be collected in the article and displayed in the “Analytics” tab. Additionally, a second preview will now appear in the preview tab on the right, which contains the content of the externally linked post.

NOTE: Please note that a post can only be linked to a single article in Scompler. If you try to link another article to the same external link, the following message will appear:EN_04_Duplikat-Fenster

You decide whether the duplicate is deleted and the current article is linked to the post, or whether analytics data should also be transferred.

Currently, the feature does not support multi-posting. If you want to link multiple articles to multiple social media posts, we recommend duplicating the articles and changing the content types.

Linking posts from other channels and platforms

You can also link to posts from other channels that you do not have access to. To do this, you must first indirectly integrate a dummy channel. Now search for the link to the desired post and insert it into your article. No analytics data is collected and the preview may vary depending on the privacy settings of the channel.

You can also link to platforms that are not yet supported by Scompler. Before doing so, you must integrate the desired platform indirectly. No analytics data is collected and the preview may be limited if the content is protected by a login.

Remove added links and filter articles with links added

If you want to remove the link to a post, click on “Unlink” in the article tab and confirm the message. Please note that all analytics data will be deleted.

A new column filter is now available in the Content area: “Source of Post”. Here you can filter articles by “Externally Published”, “Imported” or “Published” directly via Scompler.EN_05_Spaltenfilter Option

TIP: If you do not want external links to be added before an article is approved, you can disable this in the project settings under the “Settings” tab in the “Article” area:EN_06_Option Links vor Freigabe zu verknüpfen
