How to write gender-appropriate texts
The SmartGender function helps you to edit your texts in a gender-appropriate way.
In Germany, gender inclusion is already an integral part of everyday working life. Many stakeholders are requesting companies to use gender-appropriate language in their articles. In case you are also editing texts in German, feel free to try our SmartGender check, so that you can be sure that your texts address all genders. Just one click and you can check your finished text for gender-appropriate language!
To do this, click on the gender symbol at the bottom left of the article card and words that may not be gender-appropriate will immediately be highlighted:
Now you can click on the individual highlighted terms and receive suggestions for improvement:
Don't forget to confirm the replacement as soon as you have selected a suggestion:
Of course, you can also ignore the suggestions. You can also give feedback on the suggestions by clicking on “Suggest”. Under “Tips” in the correction window, you will find further recommendations for writing gender-appropriate texts.
