Enter individual success data for your articles in Scompler to get an overall view of the performance of your content.
There are many channels for distributing your content, but only a few – such as social media channels – provide you with direct data for measuring success in your Scompler project. With the help of manual performance data, you can also record relevant results in Scompler for your articles such as press releases, brochures, flyers, mailings and many more, giving you an overall view of the performance of your content.
Add fields for manual recording
Before you can start recording values, you first need to set up fields for manual performance. To do this, go to the “Strategy” > “Manual Metrics” area and add a new metric using the “Add Metric” button.
Enter a title and the type of metric in the window that opens. Metrics are classified in Scompler either as reach metric, engagement metric, impressions metric or as “Other”. The categorisation plays a role in the subsequent aggregation of the values entered for the metric at story level (feature in planning). Also select an icon for your metric and describe it in more detail (optional). Under “Target”, you can enter a value which is then displayed as the target value. You can choose between decimal and whole numbers as the value format.
Select the “+” icon to either select existing metrics from the metrics library or to add new metrics to your library.
Adding values to the article card
Now add metric values for your posts. To do this, open the corresponding article card and switch to the “Analytics” tab. If you select the “+” icon, the metrics activated for your content types will appear. Enter the value for your post in the fields below the metric names.
Select “Add metrics from library” to either select existing metrics from the metrics library or to add new metrics to your library. If several metrics from different metric types have been selected, you can move them by dragging and dropping them by the handle (6-dot area).
TIP: You can also enter negative values, which are then calculated accordingly.
Display manual performance data for evaluation in views
The manual performance data is also available as columns in the Content area. In order for your metric to be displayed, you must activate the following option in the “Strategy” > “Manual metrics” area when creating or editing:
In the content area, then go to the advanced settings (via the gear icon in the top right-hand corner) and select your desired metrics in the “Manual performance data” category. Add your changes to the view or create a completely new view. You can find out how this works in this article.
Tip: Also activate the sum row for your view to view analyses of several posts, for example in a specific topic. You do this by activating the option “Show Sum row”.
